Green Tea, popular in the Far East, has undergone minimal fermentation during
processing, causing it to be richer in vitamins than black tea and a good
source of antioxidants. Antioxidants help create a healthy balance within
the body. Scientific Research has shown that drinking green tea has been
associated with reduced mortality due to cardiovascular disease. The
benefits of drinking green tea has encouraged its increasing popularity in the West.
The Chinese Gunpowder Tea is thought to be the oldest tea and has been drunk for over 5000 years. Each Green Teas has a different taste but as a general description they are said to be fresh, light and refreshing. To avoid spoiling the taste of the tea, it should be brewed using water below boiling point (80-90°C). The liquor can range from jade to a yellowish-green. The teas is generally preferred without milk or sugar.
